High Protein Diet For Weight Loss? Pros And Cons

....

There is no such thing as a single High Protein diet. High Protein diet comes in many shapes and forms. That obviously means that not all high protein diets are created equal. Each high protein diet has got its own positives and negatives. That is simply nature and this is something the readers need to accept that there is no perfect diet which can cause weight loss. There will always be some benefits of a particular diet and some harms. More often than not, these harms are almost negligible.

As a general rule (there is a general rule for everything and then there is real life which follows no general rule), the best forms of high protein diets are the ones which are low in fat and moderate in carbohydrates (being high in protein goes without saying as that is a preliminary) rather than high  in fats and low in carbohydrates. This combination is of absolute importance as that determines how rapidly you lose weight when and if you get on a high protein diet.

Number one dish for the perfect high protein diet is the good old steak. Nothing represents a good high protein diet than a nice big juicy steak of fresh meat. The key to gaining maximum benefit from a steak is to choose the cuts wisely. Choose the most lean cut available and you can be sure that you are getting the most amounts of proteins for the least amount of fats.

In fact, if you choose your meat with some thought then you can have the same amount of protein for a beef cut as you would have with a skinless (yes skinless) chicken breast with barely more saturated fat. That is awesome if you think a little deep about it as the protein in beef (and mutton) is of much higher quality than chicken.

High Protein Diet For Weight Loss? Pros And Cons Part 2

...

This is the post where I am going to talk about the actual pros and cons of adopting a high protein diet because by now all of you know what the high protein diet is and what is it used for. In short, in this diet you eat more meat and less carbohydrates and hence lose lots of weight.

High protein diet has the further benefit of curbing your appetite so that you only eat when you need to eat, not when you WANT to eat which is the case with most of the people these days.Which is also the reason why so many people are fat, sluggish and weak these days as we put our bodies under a lot of pressure physically by eating when the body does not require food.

High protein diet is known throughout the world for changing a persons metabolism in many cases. There have been reports where people have reported an increase in their metabolic rate because of their high protein diet. What makes that effect possible is not known precisely yet but I think the explaining I will give to you is going to be satisfactory.

The way our bodies work, when we severely restrict the amount of carbohydrates that we put in our bodies, our bodies try to burn fats (which are our own form of fuel) of our own body in order to satisfy the need for carbohydrates. This puts the body in a mode known as ketosis.

Ketosis is the process through which the body burns and sheds of pounds of weight quickly. As with life, all is not bright sunshine with high protein diet as ketosis has also been related to headaches, nausea, kidney troubles and heart problems. There you go, I just mentioned the first pro and first con of high protein diet.

Rest assured that many people have tried this approach and it has payed off but for little minority (there is a minority in each and everything in life, so nothing out of the ordinary here as well) it causes health problems after this minority loses their required amount of weight.

Keep reading guys because there is lots more to come on high protein diet tomorrow.

People have been following this technique for quite some time now and hence a lot of research has been done on this subject. It is not a new thing. I am going to tell you about the pros and cons about starting to lose weight with high protein diet in the next couple of posts.

High protein diet is about having a low carbohydrate diet. It is about compensating your decrease in carbohydrates by an increase in your protein intake. Make sense right?

In this diet, the goal is to lose weight by eating protein packed foods. Which basically means that you would get fewer calories by consuming carbohydrates. High protein diet is no rocket science. High protein diet is basically an increase in the percentage of calories which you derive from proteins.

In a normal diet, you would eat something between 15-20 percent of calories from proteins but in a high protein diet, 30 to 50 percent of your calories will come from proteins.

This was just an introduction , tomorrow I will start with the nuts and bolts of high protein diet pros and cons. In this post I know I did not mention any, but that is only because I want to give you guys some brief notes about high protein diet before having to make you decide to go or not go for it.

Lose Weight Without Diet: Solution 20

Does it attract you? It should if you want to lose weight without diet

Let me break this to you nice and easy. I have been saying this before and I have got no problems in repeating these things again, as they are very important if you are serious about losing weight and not doing too much work for it.

You have got to give up on the meat. We eat too much meat. A bit too much. We need to reduce that as most meat has got a lot of fat content and cholesterol. People tend to cook meat in calorie laden oils and then eat those steaks with calorie laden sauces which adds up to a crazy amount of calories.

If u eat less meat and more vegetables then you would get a lot more fiber, which keeps you full for longer. People who are vegetarian tend to weigh less than people who are not. Most athletes do not eat meat a day before their matches, citing problems with moving smoothly after a meat heavy meal as the reason.

Not saying you should give up meat altogether, you just need to lessen it by decreasing its amount and compensating for that by eating more beans, legumes and vegetables. Legumes as I have told you in a previous post is a magic food. Keeps you full and strong.

You should not consider this tip as a diet as I am, again, not asking you to reduce your food intake. I am just asking you to reduce a certain type of food and then compensating for that by increasing another type of food which is more beneficial. At weight loss solutions, it is always the objective that readers can enjoy losing weight instead of seeing it as a strike on food.

These, easy to follow free weight loss tips, hints and solutions can really become effective weapons in winning the war against excess weight and all the bad that comes a long with it.

Lose Weight Without Diet: Solution 19

....

This post is going to be a quick one. In this series (of posts) I have mentioned about 17 (may be 18) solutions for losing weight without diet. Yup, you heard it right, you can actually lose weight without dieting. With some effort and little dedication we all can lose weight and keep it off for good.

Today, the weight loss solution that I will be presenting is going to include some maths as one cannot really deny numbers.

So, here is the thing. If you can burn 100 calories a day (which should not be difficult at all for you, no matter what profession you are in) you would lose 10 pounds in a year, that is 365 days. So which activities are suited best to it and how does burning 100 calories feel.

Well, there are infinite number of ways for you to burn 100 extra calories a day, some of the more popular ways are:

  • Walk everyday for about 20 minutes
  • Alternatively, you can jog for 10 minutes
  • Clean house for 30 minutes
  • Mow the lawn for 30 minutes
  • Plant flowers for 20 minutes (obviously, you cannot do that everyday)

All of these activities will burn about 100 extra calories a day. Provided you make no changes do your diet (the diet which you are on at the moment), these exercises will lead you to lose 10 pounds every year.

Lose Weight Without Diet: Solution 18

Man that looks delicious, sadly not very weight freindly

This post is about another weight loss solution that very few people know about, or even if they know about it, they do not follow it in a way that is beneficial for their health. As they say, there is a difference between knowing stuff and doing stuff. People get rewarded for doing stuff more than they get rewarded for knowing stuff, that is the general rule in any walk of life and perhaps more so in losing weight than anything else.

Eating more vegetables and fruits instead of meat (no matter what the quantity) is generally considered to be a slimming habit. Obviously, you cannot eat 4 pounds of spinach and 10 bananas along with 1o apples on top of 10 oranges and still expect to lose weight because that amount of food would give you about 2200 calories. That still will not cause you to gain weight, such are the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables.

Vegetarians also tend to weight less than meat eaters but that statement is subjected to portion sizes as well. If you eat a lot of fruits and oranges then that would be equivalent to someone who eats very little amount of meat and fish.

There are more than 100 reasons for why vegetarians weight less than meat eaters (generally speaking) but the most important one might be the inclusion of legumes for people who like to eat vegetables. As I have stated before on this blog that legumes are wonder foods.

Beans and other legumes are simply packed with fiber which keeps you full for longer. Red kidney beans also have a lot of protein and anti oxidants which make you stronger from the insider.

But sadly, most people do not even get half of the fiber that their body needs and that is why they eat a lot. Fiber makes you eat less and it makes you feel more energetic as you would rarely have digestive problems if you fiber intake is sufficient. Eat legumes and other vegetables in order to get your body its daily doze of fiber.
